From Little Elephant to Toia Marketing, narrowing brand focus.

Little Elephant Digital had a great presence and reputation in digital marketing, Tehya (business owner) had decided to narrow the brand focus and offer a smaller range of services that she could deliver really well. Tehya felt like she had outgrown the Little Elephant brand that had served her well up until this point, and was ready to develop the Toia brand to grow her virtual marketing strategy and management services.

  • The Brand Identity

    Working with Tehya, I created a refined, modern and professional brand identity that has a beautiful balance of calm, casual and a little bit of zest! We described it as a casual Friday office vibe. Just like the way Tehya does business.

    A colour palette inspired by New Zealand nature, the Kowhai flower and the native fauna.

    Creating custom arrows and bullet points for social media graphics to stand out from other templated graphics. Brand elements like rounded waves were used to bring in the casual and approachable values and a recognisable elements to cohesively bring together the identity across multiple applications.

    The Kowhai Brandmark

    The Kowhai is the core symbol of the Toia brand. It is the unofficial national flower of New Zealand. A bright yellow flower that stands out in the New Zealand Greenery. They thrive in a diverse range of habitats and provide a source of nectar for native birds and insects that birds will fly a long distance for.

    The wood of the trunk provides a strong durable base for the fauna to flourish. The Kowhai plant when given as a gift symbolises a respectful partnership of trust in their abilities and judgement.

    The Wordmark

    Tehya initially thought she wanted a wordmark in all capital letters, that was bold and strong. Throughout the discovery I realised this wasn’t the right direction and felt the brand needed something with a friendly feeling and flow. As soon as I had presented this wordmark alongside other alternatives she knew it was perfect!

  • Toia Marketing is now well equipped with a full brand system that is clarified, cohesive and eye catching. Saving time on all future marketing collateral having a set of guidelines and a wide variety of design assets to bring the brand to life.

    Tehya has gained a deeper understanding of her own business and the confidence to show up and talk about her business with a brand identity that she is proud of and meet the exceptional quality of the service she offers.
