A Meaningful Identity
The logo was a development of simplicity and refinement - how could we transform the Digital Refinery logo into a refined symbol that would be a memorable and identifiable mark. Refining the letters D and R to a simple form of geometric shapes.
The definition of Refine is to improve something by making small changes to make it pure. Like gold, sugar, oil or even honey. Improved to be precise and subtle.
Building the geometric shapes into a reflected square made the design feel balanced and complete. Paired with a tall, narrow typeface with customisations that makes Digital Refinery stand bold and proud.
The logo element is able to be stacked into a pattern that feels similar to the structure of a beehive.
While the Refinery is not one of honey, it is one of exceptional digital services for New Zealand business to thrive and grow.

The Digital Refinery website needed to be cool and custom! Creating inspiration for what could be possible for their customers. Instead of sourcing standard icons to display services we decided to design custom illustrations to clearly represent each of the service offering.
