Rebranding Tyre Shop Online, NZs first online tyre retailer!

Tyre Shop Online is an online tyre retailer based out of Tauranga, New Zealand. Family owned and operated since it was established in 2009. Providing a convenient, reliable and affordable way to buy tyres online. They were the first to the online tyre market in New Zealand and have thrived ever since! Offering a quick and easy way for kiwis to purchase tyres online, having more control in their buying process which can often be confusing and vague.

Tyre Shop Online still had their original branding that was no longer fit for purpose, it felt a little bit outdated and wasn’t highlighting the brand in the best possible way. They were in need of a new brand identity that would position them as a trustworthy, affordable yet high-quality online tyre retailer. They wanted their brand identity to reflect the history and help position them as a trustworthy business within the automotive industry.
Ross and Priscila as the new owners in local Tauranga wanted to make Tyre Shop Online cool! A brand identity with a logo that was worthy to be front and center on brand merch like hats and Tshirts that they could give out as freebies or prizes at car events that their male skewed audience would actually wear! We knew that most kiwi men that were into their cars were most often sporting automotive branded merch, and couldn’t pass up a good ole freebie!
The Logo
I designed the logo with movement in mind, a wordmark that could be easily broken down into various logo layouts. The wordmark is slanting forward creating forward movement. The shapes of the characters are slightly rounded like a tyre ensuring that the letters were bold with strength but not sharp. Bringing in the flag like element onto the T, bringing this in from the original logo and the association with car racing as they stock all kinds of tyres from everyday driving to performance sport.
By redesigning the Tyre Shop Online brand identity, we created an eye catching and cohesive design system that enabled easy implementation of their new brand onto their website and other brand collateral.
